Looking at the Industrial Revolution with the conventional view, the
primary results were far less lasting and important than were the
secondary results. The importance that came from the Industrial
Revoltion was in the social changes, "the multiplicity of relationships
between people and between humans and technology" which were the secondary
impact of the technology. The primary results, making textiles,
etc. are not the most important now.
