Technology:
"The Opiate of the Intellectual" - John McDermott
 

If religion is the opiate of the masses then technology must be the opiate of the intellectual?  Well at least the opiate of it's "favorite authors".  Technology has proved to be the best method of  improvement to mankind and especially to Americans.
There are however some serious disadvantages of technological advancement.  Is an increasing world population and nuclear arms race worth the beneficial aspects that are so apparent?  Can technology ultimately control the population and provide worldwide peace?
