Good Lord,
What will your
PARENTS say?!

So you want to study the wilder side of communications . . . but your folks suspect the EMAC program is all fun and games?

Here are six reasons to enroll in EMAC we think they need to hear.

Reason Number One: Real Skills

Computers and graphics, the Web, and virtual reality are not just gee-whiz games for kids. They are serious business. People who know this stuff are going places fast. The skills you gain in the EMAC program are extremely marketable. Don't get a useless degree. Come and learn powerful tools for your future.

Reason Number Two: Real Jobs

Still not convinced? Show them the careers section of this site and let them read all about it. That could be you in a few short years. Rensselaer's reputation means you'll have a shot at terrific career opportunities. EMAC's courses --along with co-op and internship possibilities--let you get the hands-on experience potential employers look for. No dull desk job for you! They'll be happy to hear it.

Reason Number Three: Our Faculty and Students

Rensselaer has an excellent student to teacher ratio, so you'll get lots of one-on-one attention. LL&C and iEAR professors are approachable and helpful. Students are friendly, and we tend to teach each other hints and tips we learn along the way. You'll find that each department on campus feels like a small community within the larger community of Rensselaer. You'll be right at home in no time.

Reason Number Four: Our Facilities

When you're an EMAC student you'll have access to all of the equipment you'll need to complete your coursework and projects. Picture this: unlimited Internet access and the latest software at your fingertips! Not to mention the fantastic stuff you can find at iEAR studios. No need to go out and buy all that fancy computer equipment yourself.

Reason Number Five: Your Choices

EMAC's curriculum gives you the flexibility to tailor your course of study to focus on what intrigues you. Sure, there are requirements. But EMAC gives you an interdisciplinary education. That means you'll be able to take courses in more than one department, in many related subject areas, depending on your interests.

Reason Number Six: Their Wallets

TWENTY THOUSAND DOLLARS in scholarship money is available if you qualify, which leaves more money left over for that vacation your parents have been wanting. You can also get loans, work-study jobs on campus, or even a co-op or internship opportunity. And after you graduate, there are well-paying employment possibilities, so you can pay those loans back. Contact the financial aid office for more information. Rensselaer will work with you to help make your education possible.
